Welcome Back Joe
Yellowknife (CP) Penetrator Nation welcomed back star center Joe Sakic to the line up tonight after sitting out the last game with a sore groin. Sakic’s return ignited his partner in crime Miro Satan who was in on all four YDP goals leading them to a 4-3 victory. ‘Joe and I had a good night,’ smiled Satan, ‘but both Rod & Mike’s (Modano) lines did a great job limiting their chances tonight.’ Although limiting their opponents to only 20 shots YDP didn’t cover the spread tonight thanks mainly to the Stinger’s star winger Rick Nash who scored twice on three shots. ‘He’s a helluva player,’ said Esche, ‘I’m so glad we only get them one more time.’ YDP will practice in the morning and fly to New York to face the Purge later this week. YDP is 1-1 against the Purge with both squads winning at home.

And YDP proves again they are a one line team. ;)
Seriously though, there's so much chemistry between Damphousse, Sakic and Satan that you could build an H-bomb. It's scary.
Realistically it’s just Sakic and Satan, the boys double shift with either Fedotenko or Moreau most night and they’ve got decent numbers too. Okay fine forget Satan it’s only Sakic, exhibit A – I present Milan Hejduk. I’ve been getting secondary scoring from others too (1st line 47%, other forwards 46% & Ds 7%), but I agree no real clutch scoring outside the first line. If Chris Modano ever gets going look out :)
I wonder how 47% production from a team's #1 line compares with others, and with NHL squads. Lines would have to be fairly static to make an accurate comparrision, or I guess you could just take the top 3 goal scorers and go from there...
I don't have a top line, but my top 3 are at 37% (Cammalleri, Doan, Parrish). But I imagine I'm more balanced than most. 8th overall in team scoring, but my top point getter has only 22.
The Senators top three (Alfredsson, Heatley Fisher)make up 39%. The Oil (Smyth, Torres, Horcoff) are at a measley 31%
Just for fun, I looked at the 1983-84 Oilers. Gretz, Kurri and Anderson accounted for 43% of the team's 446 goals. I still can't believe a team had 3 50-goal scorers in one year...Fuhr had 14 assists in only 45 games!
So I guess my point above is that you really are a one line team. ;)
Well I only know how to build one way, all world first line, solid D, mediocre goaltending and suspect support scoring :p So far in two games against the Eagles, Satan leads the way with 5 points but six others have two points each. So apparently I have balanced scoring against only certain teams :).
Rumours are swirling that "The Drake" is on his way to Yellowknife... wonder when I.Dumass will deliver the goods. :)
