YDP losses 4 in expansion draft
Yellowknife (CP) After releasing their list of 7 exposed players in this weekend’s expansion draft, it was to no one’s surprise here in Yellowknife that 4 Penetrators would fine new homes for RHL16. Gone are Trevor Letowski (20th to Seattle), Ethan Moreau (23rd to Victoria), Sergei Zholtok (25th to Kansas City) and Vladimir Orszagh (26th to Victoria). All four players have an average salary and rating of $625K and 72 respectively. All are on the final year of their contract with Orszagh the only one heading to restricted free agency. ‘We were arguably the deepest team in the Premier division last year,’ said Wong, ‘so it’s not a surprise that we lost 4 guys.’ It was also a bittersweet moment for management, with the loss of original Penetrators Moreau and Orszagh it means that Ragnarsson will most likely finish his playing career in Yellowknife. The selection of Orszagh at the 26th position also means that YDP is the first squad to have 4 players selected, which just goes to show how deep this organization really was in RHL15. GM Wong will have his work cut out for him to replenish the cupboards for RHL16.
