After a timeout to calm the boys down, Lang decided to take matters into his own hand and closed the gap to a one goal lead (4-3) just 7 minutes into the 2nd period. Brind’Amour and Damphousse restored YDP’s 3 goal lead midway through the second and paced YDP to an 8-4 victory.
