Yellowknife goes Wild over North(ern) Star

Yellowknife (CP) In an attempt to shake things up YDP has dealt Mike Modano and Luc Bourdon to the Stingers for Brian Rolston and prospect Lukas Kaspar. The acquisition of Rolston gives YDP another PK specialist, a severe sore spot for the squad this season. ‘Shawn and Rod do a great job for us, with the acquisition of Rob (Niedermayer) and now Brian we’ve got 4 solid guys that can take care of our own end.’ Rolston is also capable of playing the PP and will be looked at to head the second unit behind Sakic.
This move is real strong signal by management to some of YDP’s UFA centers, saying we want you back. Rolston has the versatility needed by YDP as he’s capable of playing both C and LW. This move essentially solidifies YDP’s LW for RHL17, which includes Tanguay, Rolston, Fedotenko and rookie Ouellet.
