Earlier this afternoon YDP acquired Hay River’s very own Geoff Sanderson from San Francisco and a pick in exchange for Tomas Holmstrom and cash. ‘When I got the call from Andy (AVI GM) I was really nervous but when I heard where I was going and for whom I was dealt for I couldn’t stop smiling,’ said Sanderson, ‘I must have gotten 50 messages from family and friends congratulating me on the trade.’ YDP’s ticket sales went through the roof shortly after a local radio station confirmed the trade. ‘We’re very excited to get Geoff,’ said GM Wong, ‘my staff and I will be burning the midnight oil to get our draft order ready for Monday.’Ima Dumass (CP)
